Las Vegas, NV—CREATEA is a ready-to-drink canned beverage making its anticipated debut during this year's SupplySide Global event. A collaboration project between 10 of the industry's top ingredient innovators, marketing and packaging designers, and formulation experts, CREATEA features creatine, unique natural caffeine, and a non-sugar sweetener in a Mighty Mango flavor profile that combines the health benefits and mental energy of two scientifically validated ingredients.
"As creatine gains recognition not only for muscle strength but also for brain health, its combination with Zynamite S positions this concept at the forefront of performance innovation," explained Ben Kane, President of PricePlow and CREATEA Project Coordinator. "Zynamite S from PLT Health Solutions is redefining what mental energy can be, with two remarkable clinical studies completed in the last year backing performance that people can feel in just 30 minutes. It is also made from mango leaves, which inspired our flavor concept."
Developed by Savage Nutra CEO, Joey Savage, CREATEA uses ingredients like SweetVantage, a branded natural sweetener ingredient developed by NNB Nutrition and InnovaBean, a branded natural alternative to synthetic caffeine produced by NutriScience Innovations. "This year’s project built upon the success of XPO NRG with some new goals," shared CREATEA's formulator. "Creatine has been a hot ingredient in the sports nutrition market for its muscle performance benefits for years. With this formulation, we wanted to break creatine out of that box for a more mainstream audience and highlight some of the other health benefits it can offer. Glanbia’s CreaBev is an innovative form of creatine that is ideal for beverages, allowing beverage formulators to achieve soluble and stable creatine formulations with less degradation."
XPO NRG Debuted at SupplySide in 2024Last October, Savage collaborated on a limited-edition project which also debuted during the annual SupplySide show: XPO NRG. That product was an energy drink featuring Cognizin citicoline from Kyowa Hakko for brain health support, enfinity Paraxanthine from TSI Group for steady energy, goBHB Ketones from Ketone Labs for improved endurance, MitoPrime L-Ergothioneine by NNB Nutrition to support longevity, Zembrin from PLT Health Solutions to elevate mood, flavoring by Sensapure Flavors, branding and label design by NutraMedia, project leadership and Marketing by PricePlow, R&D by Savage Nutra, and manufacturing by MacroCap Labs in a refreshing lemonade flavor.
“For SupplySide 2024, we set out to prove what’s possible when competitors put differences aside and collaborate, showcasing how a host of branded ingredients from across the industry can unite to deliver broad health benefits and elevate the category as a whole. For CREATEA, we focused on the same innovation goal but wanted to more closely emulate the product development process you see in the industry – including cost considerations. The formulation you see in CREATEA Mighty Mango could go straight to market,” continued Kane.
Building on the success from 2024, Kane—who served as CREATEA's Project Coordinator, brought together Savage Nutra for formula development, ADM on flavor systems, Lacore Nutraceuticals for managing filling and manufacturing, Nutramedia to lead branding and package design, and McDowell Label to execute the product's state-of-the-art flexographic sleeve printing.
“This year we wanted to take a more 'natural' approach to things," said Savage. "We wanted natural flavors and sweeteners to be one of the main differences between this year's and last year’s products."
