Los Angels, CA—Ixoreal Biomed Inc. has announced that its second flagship ingredient, SRI-81 Shatavari root extract, will be introduced at SupplySide Global 2025. Eight years of development went into this clinically validated, organic certified, root-only extract, which is the company's offering to the largely underserved women's wellness space. The standardized, clinically validated extract was developed using the foundations of green chemistry.
Ixoreal Biomed is known for developing KSM-66 Ashwagandha, one of the biggest natural product ingredient brands, which was launched KSM-66 over a decade ago. The ingredient, which known throughout the industry as "King of Ayurvedic Herbs" inspired the company to develop what it is calling the "Queen of Herbs." Shatavari has a long history of supporting women's hormonal balance, lactation, reproductive health, menopause support, and overall well-being. These benefits inspired the company to use the same scientific rigor, standardization, and credibility of its first flagship ingredient to create a new solution that will resonate with the needs of consumers today.
The science of SRI-81 Shatavari
SRI-81 Shatavari is backed by 10 clinical studies focused on key areas of women's health including perimenopause, menopause, sexual function, lactation support, and hormonal balance. The recommended effective daily dose is 300 mg. Prioritizing optimum levels of bioactives and most optimum dosage, years of trials and research allowed Ixoreal Biomed to come up with the recommended dosage.
Shatavari has been cultivated on lxoreal's own certified organic farms. With a strong focus on soil health, traceability and sustainable practices, the company has applied the same sustainability practices of KSM-66 to its latest offering, doing right by its farmers and the land they work. Customers across the world will have access to SRI-81 Shatavari, with the U.S. market serving as one of the primary entry points. Given the market scale, openness to innovation and readiness to embrace Ayurvedic ingredient, the company says SRI-81 Shatavari is positioned to capture the success of KSM-66.
The lxoreal Biomed team will be available at booth #5452 during SupplySide Global 2025 to discuss SRI-81 and its various formulation opportunities.
Supporting herbal education
Ixoreal Biomed also adopted shatavari through the American Botanical Council (ABC) Adopt-an-Herb Program. Ixoreal Biomed’s adoption of the herb supports ABC's HerbMedPro database by keeping the educational resource up-to-date with the latest published clinical and scientific data on the traditional Ayurvedic herb.
“ABC is deeply grateful to Ixoreal Biomed for its adoption of the classic Ayurvedic herb shatavari on ABC’s robust and information-rich HerbMedPro database,” shared ABC Founder and Executive Director Mark Blumenthal. “Ixoreal’s shatavari adoption on HerbMedPro helps ABC to further its unique science-based nonprofit research and educational mission to a wider user-group of scientists, researchers, educators, health professionals, industry personnel, and consumers."
