Phoenix, AZ—Sprouts Farmers Market has been recognized byEPA’s GreenChill Programfor using environmentally friendlier commercial refrigeration systems that reduce refrigerant emissions and decrease environmental impacts.

“Sprouts proudly supports the EPA’s GreenChill Program which has helped us better understand our stores’ material impact and take action to operate in a way that is better for our planet,” said Carlos Rojas, Sprouts’ Vice President of Sustainability, in a press release. “We’re proud and humbled to be recognized once again for our efforts and look forward to adding to our already 90 stores that received GreenChill certification this award cycle as we continue to expand.”

Sprouts has participated in the GreenChill Program since 2009 and accumulated 35 recognitions to date. This year, seven Sprouts stores earned Re-Certification Excellence recognizing each location for renewing GreenChill store certification for five consecutive years. The seven locations include Sprouts in Oakland, CA; San Rafael, CA; Wheat Ridge, CO; Marietta, GA; Roswell, GA; Germantown, TN; and Hurst,TX.
