Taiyo study on prebiotics published

A clinical study published in European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences looked at the role of Taiyo's prebiotic Sunfiber (PHGG) ingredient in reducing common cold symptoms. The placebo-controlled, double blind, randomized 12-week trial on 96 healthy adults revealed the prebiotic's connection to gut and immune health. Participants received 5.2g of Sunfiber or a placebo. Journals of cold-like symptoms were kept, and levels of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in stool and blood immune markers were taken at baseline and again at weeks 6 and 12. The Sunfiber group had a statistically significant greater number of cold symptom-free days, significant reduction in most general cold symptoms, general malaise, arthralgia, and chills, and reduction in constipation or diarrhea.

TriNutra U.S. patent approved

TriNutra announced the approval of its U.S. patent demonstrating the synergistic effects of thymoquinone and omega-3 fatty acids for a healthy inflammation response. The U.S. patent protects TriNutra’s orally deliverable product, ThymoQuin, containing thymoquinone (TQ) from black seed oil (BSO) and thymoquinone from other resources, and omega-3 in different forms such as various mixtures of EPA and DHA in at least a 1:7 ratio. The synergistic effects have been tested in a preclinical study. Additionally, there has recently been a human study, indicating that the combination supports the immune system and overall well-being. The combination has also demonstrated support for a healthy microbiome. ThymoQuin is the first full-spectrum, cold-pressed, and standardized BSO to 3% TQ and very low free fatty acids (FFA).

Solabia- Algatech Nutrition shares study results

Solabia- Algatech Nutrition released the results of a recently published clinical study demonstrating that AstaPure Arava can have a beneficial effect on immune health and well-being. There was significant reduction in the stress hormone cortisol and positive changes in the gut microbiome. The product is a full-spectrum microalgae complex, providing 3% astaxanthin, 50% polysaccharides and dietary fibers, 28% lipids, 14% proteins, and a variety of B-complex vitamins and trace minerals. The 32 participants completed a profile of mood state psychological assessment and a health log questionnaire assessing health status and URTCs, plus provided saliva and fecal samples for measurement of cortisol and microbiome balance. They reported significantly fewer URTC complaints—and better overall well-being. Further, symptoms like cough, sore throat, sniffles, and stuffiness were 78% lower compared to placebo, while the Global Mood State (i.e. overall well-being) was improved by 14%.

Euromed shares study for weight reduction

In a recently published clinical study, subjects supplementing with Euromed’s natural extract Pomanox showed significantly lower levels of hunger and a desire to eat, as well as higher levels of satiety, compared to a placebo group. In the preliminary, independent, placebo-controlled study conducted at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, 28 healthy participants were given either 3-week supplementation with Pomanox or a placebo. The results suggest that participants in the Pomanox group were more satisfied than those given the placebo. Participants were also less hungry after Pomanox intake during meals than those who consumed placebo juice and capsules. Scores from the visual analogue scales (VAS), which record subjective sensations, showed significantly lower levels of hunger and a desire to eat, as well as higher levels of fullness.
