City of Industry, CA—AIDP has added an extensive line of California-grown mushroom extracts, powders, and blends from Sempera Organics (Morgan Hill, CA) to its wide-ranging portfolio of nutraceutical ingredients. According to the announcement, Sempera Organics grows 25 species and more than 120 strains in a unique vertically integrated lab farm.

“AIDP is excited to supply Sempera Organic’s substantial line of mushroom products,” said Lauren Clardy, Vice President Brands AIDP. “We have recognized the growing mushroom market and are excited to partner with a best-in-class supplier like Sempera Organics.”

Nirmal Nair, CEO and founder of Sempera Organics, added, “We are happy to work with AIDP, Inc. to bring our line of products to the supplement, food, and beverage markets. We recognize AIDP’s expertise and broad industry reach, making them a compelling distribution partner for Sempera Organics.”

About the Sempera Organics line

Consumers are interested in both fungi and condition-specific support. To meet these interests, Sempera has  researched blends called CORE that are aimed at trending health conditions such as cognition, immunity, beauty from within, microbiome, performance, and mental wellness.

Sempera’s organic mushroom powders and lion’s mane, reishi, and cordyceps extracts are standardized to 20% beta-glucans. Beta-glucans exist in all mushrooms and are shown in numerous studies to support both immune function and cardiometabolic factors. In addition, Sempera has developed unique green chemistry and clean extraction technologies to capture the full spectrum of water-soluble polysaccharides and the water-insoluble triterpenes and sterols, depending on the mushroom species. In addition, Sempera’s mushroom products are DNA-tested, USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, kosher, and comply with vegan requirements.

“Our extracts provide companies great versatility to create ready-to-mix and ready-to-drink beverage applications,” said Nair. “Our ingredients can be readily used for a wide variety of dry and wet dosage applications.”

Focus on sustainability & scalability

Sempera’s vertical farming offers sustainability advantages, the company noted. These include the ability to produce a higher volume of crop per square foot, continually with no production gaps. And thanks to its vertically integrated operation, Sempera says it can offer a transparent and secure supply chain with scalable capacity to meet the demand. Nair noted, “Our vertically integrated supply chain is extensive and encompasses genetics, growing the mushrooms and processing into shipping ready ingredients."
