Bothell, WA —Essentia, the pioneer of ionized alkaline bottled water in the U.S., announced second quarter retail sales of $16 million and is on track to break its forecast for the year.

Over the past 52 weeks, Essentia achieved $153 million in retail measured sales with 72% growth, according to SPINS.

With a 7.7% share of the premium water market, Essentia delivered more than 29% of category growth through the end of Q2. Leading the way is New York, where over the last four weeks Essentia has captured a 22% share of the premium water market, driving 82% of the category growth and surpassing Fiji to become #2. Since January, the brand increased its points of distribution by 30%.

Chuck Czerkawski was named CFO, a new role, bringing more than 30 years of experience. Czerkawski joins Essentia from Avedis Zildjian Company, where he served as EVP and CFO. Previously, he held senior finance and CFO positions at large multinational companies including Gillette, Pepsi Bottling and Pharmasol Corp.

Jennifer Watson has been appointed to lead Essentia’s human resources department. She joins Essentia as the brand’s senior director of human resources.
