Basel, Switzerland—Raw materials giantLonzaannounced thatInterHealth Nutraceuticalsof Benicia, CA, will soon be part of its health and nutrition portfolio. The firm is planning a $300-million acquisition of InterHealth.

InterHealth, owned by Kainos Capital, offers branded ingredients like  UC-II, Super CitriMax, 7-Keto, Meratrim, Relora and others that will give Lonza its first steps into the blood sugar and cognitive health markets

Said Richard Ridinger, Lonza’s CEO, in a press statement, “Lonza will leverage the successful product portfolio of InterHealth on a global level and in turn will be able to benefit from InterHealth’s proven management and branding capabilities to promote Lonza’s existing product portfolio. We see significant positive synergies from this combination."

The deal is expected to close in September.
