The natural products industry is mourning the passing of Jerry Cochern, Founder and Formulator of Pure Essence. A dedicated member of the natural health sector, Cochern started the well-known supplements brand, Rainbow Light, and committed more than four decades of his life to improving the lives of individuals through holistic nutrition. Throughout the industry, Cochern will be 
remembered for his seemingly limitless wisdom, compassion, and steadfast faith in holistic wellness.
Cochern was known for helping to bring spirulina to the U.S. Market and introducing the world's first food-based vitamin and mineral formulations.
Following the news of his passing, the Pure Essence company honored their founder: "We are grateful for your continued partnership and for being part of the Pure Essence family. While we mourn this tremendous loss, we also celebrate Jerry’s life, his work, and the lasting difference he made."
Members of the industry took to the company's Facebook page to share memories of Cochern, commenting on his legacy and lasting influence on the industry, his leadership, and his graciousness as an individual.
Cochern is survived by his wife and Pure Essence President, Margareth, his son and Pure Essence marketing and warehouse operations leader Gabriel, as well as his niece and Pure Essence Quality Manager, Mariana.
