Twinlab Corporation of New York, NY, was named a finalist in the New Product or Service of the Year category in the 2014 American Business Awards. The company was nominated in the New Product or Service category in the health and pharmaceuticals industry for Twinlab Daily One Age-Defense Telomere Multi.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition of Washington, D.C., is now offering members a web-based tool that compiles all available FTC advertising enforcement actions related to dietary supplements and functional foods since 2003. It will be updated quarterly.

Sprouts Farmers Market, based in Phoenix, AZ, held a fundraiser in August in which 25 cents from the purchase of more than 900 supplements sold in the store were donated to Vitamin Angels. Some 55 brands participated.

Meanwhile, NeoCell of Irvine, CA, partnered up with Walgreens to raise money for Vitamin Angels. The company will give 1% of the retail value of all its products sold at Walgreens stores to Vitamin Angels. The company also announced that its ArthroPet product is now available nationwide at The Vitamin Shoppe.

The American Herbal Products Association, based in Silver Spring, MD, added 17 new members from July through September. As of press time, 45 new member companies have joined the group in 2014, making for a 12% increase in membership this year.

Florida-based Tunies Natural Grocery & Vitamin Market is opening up a new location in Fort Lauderdale in Q1 2015.
