3 Reasons Nutri-Beauty: Mastering the Market is a Can’t-Miss Virtual Event!

April 12, 2021
Maggie Jaqua
Virtual—On April 21-22, 2021, WholeFoods Magazine and Trust Transparency Center will host our next virtual event in the #NaturallyInformed series: Nutri-Beauty: Mastering the Market. I'm amazed at how much content we are packing in over the two days. Our focus: bridging the gaps between science and strategy, bringing together world-class research, business intelligence, and regulatory insights to allow suppliers, brands, retailers, practitioners, and other industry players to master the rapidly developing beauty-from-within space. And as always, this Naturally Informed event is free to attend, thanks to our sponsors: BioCell Technology; Lycored; Stratum Nutrition; Bergstrom Nutrition; ClearCut; and Soft Gel Technologies, Inc.

A few of the schedule highlights on day 2, which I will be moderating:
  1. Discovering the Secrets to Radiant Health and Beauty. I always love hearing Christine Horner, MD, speak. If you haven't had the pleasure yet, you won't be disappointed. And personally, I can't wait for the day 2 keynote, because Dr. Horner is going to be dishing on secrets to looking amazing. She'll tell us about her personal experience with Ayurveda, which she credits with helping her look 10 years younger and feeling better than ever after only 48 hours of treatments. Sounds good to me! Dr. Horner will discuss the secrets of Ayurveda along with proven natural approaches including food, supplements, and lifestyle choices, plus innovative technologies for radiant beauty and optimal health.
  2. Exploring the Rise of Nutri-Beauty During a Pandemic. I'll admit it: I wear sweatpants a lot more often these days, and makeup a lot less often. But I've really upped my game when it comes to taking care of my skin, hair, and nails. And I'm not alone: In a soon-to-be-published WholeFoods Magazine article, experts told us the category is being fueled by an increase in video-conferencing (personally, I see myself on Zoom and Teams a lot these days), combined with reduced access to professional beauty services and increased downtime to focus on at-home self-care. In the session Trends & Market Opportunities, experts will give us an update on the market, with insights into ingredients and innovations, as well as a look at positioning and merchandising products.
  3. Working with Influencers; Communicating with Consumers. Influencers are changing the game, but proceed with caution. Angela Diesch will discuss the U.S. FTC's recent guidance on influencer/sponsor disclaimers. Also on the agenda: a look at the EU's recent guidance on the prohibition of "free from" claims. And later in the day, Jennifer Norman will discuss best practices for both brands and retailers for engaging and communicating with consumers.
That's just a small sampling of what the event will cover. Check out the full schedule for the two-day event here—we have more world-class speakers lined up, as well as intimate roundtables for networking and brainstorming each day. On that note, I'd love to chat with you during the day 2 roundtable An Exploration of Promising Ingredients in the Nutri-Beauty Category), or join the experts at BioCell for The Role of Branded Ingredients in Nutricosmetics.

Seriously, don't miss this event. And if you have to miss it live because of schedule conflicts, no worries—all sessions (minus the live roundtables) will be available on demand, so be sure to register.
