After just four weeks of daily supplementation with Lycored’s tomato-derived nutrient complex Lycomato, researchers saw scientifically measurable results, and consumers also reported the positive difference. The findings are published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology.

About the clinical trial

Fifty healthy women of different ages (35 – 58), ethnicities (Asian, Black, Caucasian and Latino), and skin types (Fitzpatrick II-V) took Lycomato soft gels containing 15mg of lycopene daily for 12 weeks. Participants' skin condition was assessed, and visual grading identified significant improvements after both four weeks and 12 weeks of supplementation. These included:

  • fine lines
  • wrinkles
  • pore appearance
  • brightness/radiance
  • skin tone evenness
  • dark spot intensity
  • smoothness
  • firmness

The study also included a self-assessment stage. After 12 weeks of supplementation:

  • 86% of subjects said using Lycomato had improved the overall appearance of their skin
  • 88% said it had improved their skin’s elasticity
  • 86% said their skin felt smoother
  • 84% said their skin felt younger or healthier

“In this study we see that Lycomato drove a significant improvement across a variety of ages, ethnicities and skin types, as evaluated by expert grading, instrumental measurement and most importantly – user perception," said Elizabeth Tarshish, Ph.D., Head of Claims and Clinical Affairs at Lycored. "We strive to empower people to feel comfortable in their own skin, so it’s exciting to know that participants reported feeling a difference and feeling good about themselves.”

In a recent webinar, Dr. Karin Hermoni, Lycored Global Head of Science, offered a deep-dive into the new Lycomato clinical study results supporting skin appearance through supplementation in a variety of ages and skin types. Dr. Hermoni also discussed Lycored’s entire beauty-from-within portfolio of proprietary tomato-based ingredients and vitamins designed to provide wellness from the inside out to radiate your inner glow. Access the sponsored video here.
