Secaucus, N.J. – SPARK AUTO DELIVERY, the subscription service Vitamin Shoppe hopes will help it compete with online retailers, officially launched on Monday.

In addition to 10% off more than 1,000 participating products, guaranteed best prices with a 30-day lookback, double rewards points for the Healthy Awards loyalty program, and free shipping in the continental U.S., subscribers will get flexible delivery options, quarterly personalized surprise packages. and hassle-free returns in-store and online.

Complimentary virtual wellness consultations with certified nutritionists and customized transformation plans to help members achieve their personal goals round out the program.

"While the concept of auto delivery is not new to the industry, we have created a consumer-first subscription service that combines convenience and savings with engaging experiences," said John Hnanicek, Chief Customer Innovation and Technology Officer at The Vitamin Shoppe in the release announcing the launch.

“With  SPARK AUTO DELIVERY™,we are enhancing our customer's journey from product discovery to delivery by incorporating personalized elements and interactions designed just for them," he added.

The program was created with Silicon Valley branding firm Liquid Agency. Apparently the agency was unaware that Amazon would be launching a news service named Spark.

Vitamin Shoppe CEO Colin Watts first announced the program in thequarterly conference callwith analysts on Aug. 9. At that time, he announced Q2 sales of $3.04.8 million, a year-over-year sales decline of 8.3% over 2016.
