A going-out-of-business sale is in effect for stores that are closing, the release says, adding, "It is anticipated that the closing process for stores will take place over the next three weeks. Deep discounts on in-store merchandise during that time will allow customers to stock up on some of their favorite Lucky’s products before they are sold out."

On the Lucky's Market Facebookpage, the company posted:We are sad to say the rumors are true. We’re closing many of our stores and couldn’t be more upset to be leaving so many communities who have supported us for years. What we built with you, our loyal customers, was not in vain. You helped contribute to our mission: Good Food For All...We love the heck out of you.

The post was met with a strong response from shoppers, with many commenting to express sadness over the closings.

Seven Lucky's locations that will remain open: Traverse City, MI; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Columbia, MO; Melbourne, FL; North Boulder and Fort Collins, CO.
