Nashville, TN—Ancient Nutrition has launched the R.A.N.C.H. Project, a solution aimed at building topsoil, reducing waste, and sequestering carbon dioxide, according to a press release. The name stands for the company’s commitment pillars: Regenerative Agriculture, Nutrition & Climate Health.

The R.A.N.C.H. Project is dedicated to accomplishing Ancient Nutrition’s 2024 sustainability commitments, which are as follows:
  1. Become carbon negative through regenerative agriculture initiatives and supporting offsets.
  2. Plant 1 million superfood-bearing perennial trees, bushes, vines, and shrubs, in the Million Member Regenerative Food Forest. Every Ancient Nutrition purchase supports this goal. A full list of what is being planted is available here.
  3. Reduce company-produced plastic and waste by 25%, while transitioning to more sustainable packaging and marketing materials. To this end, there will be no more plastic neckband safety seals; products no longer come in an outer carton; and canisters will be switched from hard PET to HDPE, which uses 25% less plastic.
  4. Launch a major seed-saving initiative to future-proof regenerative farming by collecting and banking seeds from every harvest from the 100+ species Heirloom, Native, and Exotic Superfood Farm, as well as collecting food waste and seeds from local organizations.
  5. Support non-profit Mully Children’s Family, in order to help end poverty, hunger, homelessness, and human trafficking, while planting trees to fight climate change.
Ancient Nutrition’s new headquarters are located at The Center for Regenerative Agriculture & Sustainability, a 110-acre farm in Middle Tennessee and the location of the Million Member Regenerative Food Forest Initiative. It is home to 100+ plant varieties, focused on biodiversity and native pollinators, and is home to ducks, chickens, guinea fowl, bees, horses, cows, sheep, and water buffalo.

“Through our regenerative agriculture practices, we make sure that we’re giving back to the soil instead of just taking from it, because we want to be part of the solution, not the problem,” said Jordan Rubin, Co-founder and CEO of Ancient Nutrition. “That’s why all of the accessible waste material and by-product from the manufacturing process of Ancient Nutrition’s new fermented Multi Collagen Proteinis composted and used to grow organic food crops, some of which become ingredients in Ancient Nutrition products.”
