Bradenton, FL—A standardized tongkat ali (TA) supplement supports healthy immunomodulation, according to new research lead by a team from Biotropics Malaysia.

The month-long study involved 81 Japanese subjects that took 200 mg/day of TA or a placebo. Everyone had fairly low scores on the Scoring of Immunological Vigor (SIV) scale. SIV is an index of immune function.

After four weeks, the SIV and immunological scores were significantly higher in the TA group than in the placebo group. Counts for total, naïve, and CD4+ T cells were also higher in the TA group, which suggest improvements in cell-mediated immunity.

The study was conducted on a branded extract, LJ100, from HP Ingredients, based here. The data are published inPhytotherapy Research.
