WholeFoods Magazine (www.wholefoodsmagazine.com) is looking for highly motivated, responsible students who like to write and want to learn about magazine publishing by "doing." Interns will research and write several articles (some with bylines) about vitamins, organic foods, natural body care, and environmentally friendly products. Other projects will include news writing, web site updates (www.wholefoodsmagazine.com), new products/books write-ups, copyediting, indexing, etc. This internship requires a minimum commitment of 6 hours per week. The internship is unpaid, but can be completed for college credit.
Qualifications: Excellent writers and proofreaders. Should be reliable and a team player. Must commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week (days/times flexible). English/journalism/nutrition majors preferred.
Duties: Write news stories, short by-lined feature articles, proofread pages, develop product write-ups, update web site (www.wholefoodsmagazine.com), research stories, and more. Great way to learn the ins and outs of magazine publishing and build your writing portfolio.
Internship Period: full semester
