Magtein Receives UK Authorization

Magtein has now been authorized as a novel food in the United Kingdom. Ministers in England, Scotland and Wales have approved the data protection of the patented proprietary form of magnesium L-threonate for 5 years. Available for use in a wide range of supplement and functional food and beverage applications, including capsules, tablets, gels, powders and liquid concentrates, it is exclusively distributed by ThreoTech LLC

In addition to its latest authorization, Magtein holds Novel Food status in the EU and FDA GRAS approval in the US. It is also safe for use in consumer products in Canada, Japan, Turkey, India and Thailand. “In the UK, as elsewhere, consumers are increasingly seeking out effective solutions for stress, sleep and cognitive well-being," shared Rory Lipsky, Sr. VP Marketing, ThreoTech, LLC. "Magnesium can be highly effective, but most forms struggle to deliver meaningful benefits because they don’t cross the blood-brain barrier to a sufficient degree. Magtein’s unique structure has a dramatic impact on brain bioavailability, and we’re delighted that its proven benefits can now be made available to consumers in one of the world’s most important magnesium markets.”

Simple Mills Launches "Taste the Sunshine" Campaign

Better-for-you snack brand, Simple Mills, is teaming up with entrepreneur, media personality, and lifestyle expert Martha Stewart for its latest marketing campaign. Known for using purposeful, simple, and nutrient-dense ingredients in its product line of crackers, cookies, bars and baking mixes, the company created a visual content series and hotline, all narrated by Stewart, to highlight the brand's delicious, flavor-packed offerings. The "Taste the Sunshine" ad blitz will feature Martha Stewart's famously dry persona playing off of the brand's optimism-driven voice in a content series that includes:

  • Sunshine Sessions: an episodic Instagram series set in an overly bright, sunshine-drenched kitchen. Martha will deliver a series of “heart-warming” lessons that humorously contradict her signature tone.
  • 1-855-SUNNY01: in tandem, Simple Mills launched a “sunshine hotline” narrated by Martha. Callers are greeted by her dry, yet delightful delivery and guided through tongue-in-cheek prompts with the added incentive of redeeming a coupon for a free box of Simple Mills' cookies, crackers, or bars for a limited time.

ACI Group Advocates for Supplier Oversight

Nutrition and functional food brands should take a more proactive approach to supplier engagement and ingredient sourcing, according to ACI Group's latest press release. The supply chain and distribution specialist issued the recommendation in response to an expected rise in regulatory scrutiny and sustainability throughout the industry. Increasingly, brands are expected to show full traceability, ethical sourcing, and sustainable practices from raw materials through to finished products, with strategic collaboration across the supply chain becoming essential for safeguarding product integrity and consumer confidence. ACI Group recommends businesses show off their responsibility to consumers, protect product quality, and future-proof operations by moving past documentation and supplier assurances to set documentation and supplier assurances to establish transparency and first-hand validation at every stage of their supply chains.

“Brands today are expected to do more than rely on paperwork alone,” said Sam Lubbock-Smith, Business Development Manager at ACI Group. “First-hand engagement such as site visits enable companies to verify sourcing practices, quality systems, and innovation capabilities while building relationships that support long-term credibility and consumer trust.”

Standard Process Announces Brand Refocuses

Standard Process is setting its branding sights on whole food–based nutrition, vertically integrated farming, and clinical relevance. Known for helping practitioners and patients address nutritional gaps with whole food-based solutions to support health at every stage of life, the family-owned business is embracing clinical care enablement, provider-led care, and scientific research as a distinguisher against marketing gimmicks and flashy claims. During a time when consumer demand for credibility and differentiation are on the rise, Standard Process is shifting its brand goals to emphasize how their commitment to nutrient-rich soil helps practitioners and their patients rely on supplements derived from a robust source rather than depleted commodity ingredients.

Currently, the company's product line includes: SP Children's ProSynbiotic, a unique prebiotic and fiber blend providing microbiome support and healthy bowel movements; and SP Red Food, a whole foods astaxanthin supplement containing a mix of phytonutrients to support muscle and cardiovascular health.

“Restoring nutritional integrity as the foundation of health has been a guiding principle of Standard Process since 1929,” shared Charlie DuBois, Standard Process President and CEO. “Our understanding of whole food nutrition continues to advance. There has never been a more important time to empower people in changing their lives.”
