Washington, DC--The natural products industry will present a unified front at the2019 Dietary Supplement Day on the Hill on June 12 in Washington, D.C. The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA),the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA),the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), andthe United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) will be joining forces to advocate for consumer safety and access, industry growth and innovation.

The collaborative effort will honor the 25th anniversary of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA), according to a press release from CRN.  All member of the four trade organizations are encouraged to participate. The main goals, CRN outlined, are to  educate Congressional offices about the benefits of dietary supplements, and to advocate for reasonable regulation that strikes a balance between safety and access, as DSHEA does.

Noting the positive growth the natural products industry has undergone since DSHEA was passed in 1994, CRN noted that "more work still needs to be done to ensure continued consumer safety and confidence, and industry leaders participating in the Day on the Hill are poised to address the industry’s needs to secure another 25 years of growth."
