New York--The Plant Based World Conference & Expo (PBW) has announced a new PBW Advisory council made up of members representing retailers, distributors and brokers in the industry, according to a press release. This advisory council is set to ensure support and guidance to the industry as plant-based products continue to become more popular.

Chris Nemchek, chair of the Buyer Council at Plant Based World Conference & Expo, said in the release: "We are thrilled to have the support and guidance of this advisory board. Today's food landscape is evolving rapidly as more and more consumers are shifting away from traditional animal products towards more wholesome, sustainable and ethical options. The members of our council are leading the way to help the industry better understand this new consumer mindset and to build a foundation that can last for many years to come."

Member of the Buyer Advisory Council include Tabitha Sewell, dairy category manager of dairy and refrigerated beverages, KeHe Distributors, LLC; Jorge Perez Avilla, sr. sourcing, Sprouts; Steven Spencer, category manager, UNFI; and Stephanie Seper, SVP of brand management & social responsibility at Hanson Faso Sales & Marketing, Inc.

The Plant Based World Expo will take place from June 7-8 at the Javits Convention Center in NYC.
