Gluten-Free Certification Organization

31214 124th Ave. SE, Auburn, WA 98092,

The Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) is an independent service provider dedicated to supervising gluten-free food productions. The firm abides by consistent, defined and science-based standards confirmed by field inspections to ensure safety and improve consumer confidence. GFCO is determined to improve the health of those maintaining a gluten-free diet due to sensitivities, general health concerns or other medical conditions and envisions a simplified consumer identification of gluten-free foods by labeling certified foods with the GF Certification Mark.

To get GFCO’s GF Certification Mark, manufacturers must meet the strictest set of gluten-free standards that go beyond the requirements set by government laws and regulations. These voluntary standards are based on scientific research and help ensure complete public confidence while giving consumers an easier way to identify GF foods. The main focus for certification is on products intended for human consumption, but other products that interact with the digestive system through inhalation, absorption and injection may also be considered for certification, according to the organization.

To date, GFCO has certified over 10,600 products from more than 370 certified companies in 15 different countries. Included on GFCO’s Web site is a handy flipbook of The Complete Guide to Certified Gluten-Free Products, Companies and Manufacturers, providing contact information for gluten-free, GFCO-certified resources.
