In Memoriam

Fitness expert Jack LaLanne passed away at the end of January. He was 96. LaLanne succumbed to respiratory failure caused by pneumonia. LaLanne, who ate right and exercised throughout his long life, hosted a workout show into the 1970s. He innovated several techniques that didn’t required expensive exercise techniques. He also founded a chain of fitness gyms and marketed a line of juicers. LaLanne’s longtime friend Patricia Bragg, N.D., of Bragg Foods, stated “I will miss him…Jack’s daily exercise television show reached and improved the health of millions.” LaLanne credited her father, Paul C. Bragg, with “saving his life and leading him on his journey to making health and fitness his life’s work and passion…Dad took great pride in mentoring and seeing Jack’s success.”
