Branded Calcium–Boron Supports Heart Health

Momence, IL—Calcium fructoborate (CFB), a plant-derived nature-identical ingredient composed of calcium bound to boron, may support various aspects of heart health, according to new research published in Biological Trace Element Research.

Researchers from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova, Romania, gave study participants CFB (either 112 mg or 56 mg, as FruiteX-B from FutureCeuticals, based here) or a placebo for a month. Glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride, C-reactive protein, homocysteine levels and other markers of inflammation were noted before and after the study. The higher-dose supplement was found to lower CRP levels by 31.3% over baseline and reduce homocysteine levels by 5.5%. Both the high- and low-dose supplement groups also had lower levels of bad cholesterol (by 9.8 and 9.4%, respectively) and triglyceride levels (9.1 and 8.8%, respectively). CFB also was found to reduce various markers of inflammation. Overall, the authors believe this supplement supports cardiovascular health by “positively affecting these blood markers.”
