Aker BioMarine, with headquarters in Oslo, Norway, expanded its research team with eight new scientists. They are: Finn Myhren, Ph.D., Wenche Rasch, Ph.D., Petter-Arnt Hals, Ph.D., Stefan Hupfeld, Ph.D., Tore Duvold, Ph.D., Trygve Bergeland, Ph.D., Hanne Loken, Ph.D., and Tove Flem Jacobsen, M.Sc.

Vitalah of Watsonville, CA, appointed Stuart Hutchinson to be its new vice president of sales.

RightWay Nutrition of Bluffdale, UT, hired Bill Atkinson to be its national retail sales manager. Atkinson has six years in the natural products industry, and has experience in product development and key account development. He will manage all national accounts.

Melody Meyer, vice president for policy and industry relations at UNFI, will be the new Board President of the Organic Trade Association, succeeding Matt McLean of Uncle Matt’s Organic. The other new board members are Sarah Bird of Annie’s Inc. as vice president—USA, Ian Walker of Left Coast Naturals as vice president—Canada, Leslie Zuck of Pennsylvania Certified Organic as secretary, and Tony Bedard of Frontier Natural Products Co-op as treasurer.

Anurag Pande, Ph.D., vice president of scientific affairs at Sabinsa Corporation of East Windsor, NJ, gave a presentation on Green Cosmetics: The Future of Skincare to the Chemical Marketing & Economics Topical Group of the American Chemical Society in New York.

ShiKai Products of Santa Rosa, CA welcomed Jody Stutelberg as its new central regional sales manager.

Corinna Bellizzi joined SuperNutrition, Inc. of Oakland, CA as vice president of sales.

Maged Sharaf, Ph.D., joined the American Herbal Products Association of Silver Spring, MD, as its new chief science officer.

Eden Foods of Clinton, MI has a new Canadian national sales manager: Christophe Dieudonné.

New Milford, CT-based Torie & Howard hired Carly Brunjes to handle inside sales for its line of organic, kosher and non-GMO hard candy.     

NattoPharma ASA appointed Tom McMahon to be the sales manager of its North American headquarters in Metuchen, NJ.

OmniActive Health Technologies has moved its global sales and marketing headquarters to Morristown, NJ, and relocated several executive team members to North America. Abhijit Bhattacharya, president, relocated to the Morristown, NJ office; and Jayant Deshpande, Ph.D., chief technology officer, is now located at OmniActive’s International Research and Development Center, in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Plus, OmniActive hired Lynda Doyle to be its vice president of global marketing.
