Bridgewater, NJ—While many consumers may not equate starches with glycemic health, it’s important to understand that there are different types of starches and one branded form may actually help insulin sensitivity. 

A new report published in the Journal of Food Science casts doubt on whether some common food ingredients are pure and of a high quality.  

The 2012 Natural Products Expo West tradeshow was the largest in its 30-year history. Some 60,000 industry members attended the event, which ran March 8–11 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Show organizers said attendance of retail buyers grew 13% this year, which made for a good show, say many exhibitors.

States the company, “Its unique technology is based on food-grade, 100%-water-soluble micelles, allowing the production of a highly stable product form with respect to pH and temperature. The micelles have a diameter of approximately 30 nm.”

New from Deerland Enzymes, Inc. and Thione International, Inc. is the ThioZyme Formula, which combines cellular antioxidants and antioxidant enzymes. The company says the formula offers “twice the antioxidant capacity of glutathione (the most studied and important protective molecule in the human body).” The antioxidant enzymes help maintain the body’s natural defense system against free radical damage. Deerland makes and distributes enzymes for hundreds of different applications. Thione specializes in antioxidant combinations.
