Morristown, NJ—A research group representing National Kaohsiung Marine University of Taiwan,  P.L. Thomas Corp. (based here), PoliNat Inc. from Spain and Rutgers University of New Brunswick, NJ published data in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry describing how a proprietary ingredient supports healthy weight loss.

Ixoreal Biomed offers KSM-66 Advanced Ashwagandha , which is extracted using a proprietary process that results in a form of the herb with the highest yield in its active constituents, withanolides. Ixoreal Biomed also announced its long-term plan to support scientific studies on ashwagandha’s benefits for stress management.

O.Berk’s Bettix bottles have “twin necks” that contain two cavities for easy measuring and pouring. The larger side is the main repository and by squeezing the bottle, one can transfer an exact amount of liquid to the smaller chamber. Both sides contain gradient measurements and plugs to prevent dual pours. This bottle is intended for products that need to be measured and poured out with no mess.

NutraGenesis’ Wellberry ingredient was reformulated and now Indian Gooseberry and Transport-C Plus vitamin C. The benefits of Wellberry include antioxidant, anti-aging, cellular protection and immune support. This new and improved version of Wellberry now contains twice the amount of ascorbic acid and other vitamin C ingredients.

 

MicroGARD natural fermentates and Nova- GARD natural antimicrobial blends have been released by Danisco. The ingredient lines are part of Dansico’s Care4U range of product solut ions and are gluten- free. MicroGARD and NovaGARD are now manufactured using Sensient’s 5001 Yeast Extract, according to the firm.

 

Geneva, Switzerland—Some feel beauty starts from within, especially when antioxidants come into play. New data suggest a powerful antioxidant ingredient may lead to significant benefits in skin health, according to a group from Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine in Germany and Horphag Research (based here).

Biorginal Food & Science Corp. has developed BioPure Krill, a source of phospholipids, astaxanthin and omega-3 fatty acids. The firm says the phospholipid EPA/DHA structure will help make krill oil a leader in the omega-3 market in the next five years. BioPure Krill oil’s makeup is said to be better absorbed within the body and provides more antioxidants than other leading omega-3 ingredients.

Cactus Botanics now offers several grades of brown seaweed (Laminaria japonica) for the dietary supplement industry. Laminaria japonica contains high levels of fucoidan, which supports hypothyroidism, fatigue and menstruation.
