Naturex has launched VegeBrite, pure fruits and vegetables concentrates that complement its existing E-Color line. VegeBrite concentrates are made without formulation additives or preservatives thanks to aseptic packaging, says the firm.
SunOpta Ingredients Group expanded its value-added ingredients portfolio. SunOpta Rice Fiber 310 is a gluten-free ingredient that delivers dietary fiber (90%+) with a smooth texture and mild flavor. OptaGrade 350 provides stabilization of dairy foods like yogurt for a thick, creamy texture.
Lonza has launched the Memree line containing soy-based phosphatidylserine (PS). Both MemreePS and MemreePlus are intended for cognitive health applications, but MemreePlus also supports healthy cortisol levels for stress support. Both ingredients come in liquid and dry forms.
Valensa International launched Zanthin XP-3 Astaxanthin, designed for optimal absorption. The ingredient combines Valensa’s Zanthin natural astaxanthin with a supercritical extract of perilla seed oil, O2B Peroxidation Blocker stabilization system and sunflower-based phospholipids. Given the enhanced absorption, less astaxanthin is needed.
New from P.L. Thomas & Co, Inc. and Grow Green Industries, Inc. are eatSafe Natural Food Wash and eatFresh Natural Antimicrobial. These natural food sanitizers and preservatives “enhance the taste, sensory profiles and shelf-life of fresh produce, seafood and poultry as well as prepared and processed foods.” The wash is said to remove 99.999% of bacteria and +98% of pesticide residues from produce.
Lonza now offers DHAid, a vegetarian algae DHA product with enhanced stability and taste. The line includes DHAid FNO-350, an oil with 350 mg of DHA/gram for food applications. DHAid CL-400 is a clear oil delivering 400 mg of DHA/gram for dietary supplements. Last, DHAid Dry is a dry powder blend for special nutrition beverages.
Capsugel has released a new plant-based capsule made from pullulan, fermented from tapioca. Plantcaps capsules are an “important option for customers distributing organic supplements in the United States, which restricts organic labeling language on organic ingredients encapsulated in other non-pullulan polymers,” says the company. Capsules are clear.
