Salt Lake City, UTGOED (the Global Organization of EPA and DHA Omega-3s) released a report about omega-3s on the global market in 2015.

The group says these items accounted for $31.4 billion in sales worldwide, with 36% coming from Asia, 32% from North America and 26% from Europe. The Rest of World category and Latin America contributed a little over 2% each, and Australia/New Zealand contributed another 1.5%.

GOED expects the category to grow 5% worldwide through 2017, with double-digit growth anticipated in Asia. GOED says this growth will be driven by infant formula (8% growth expected) and clinical nutrition (6% growth predicted). “Dietary supplements will continue to grow, but at rates below 5%,” GOED states.
