Sabinsa Corporation of East Windsor, NJ, received a letter of non-objection from FDA regarding the GRAS status of its Curcumin C3 Complex ingredient.

Aker BioMarine of Oslo, Norway, launched the “How to Speak Krill” program, which offers retailers the tools they need to help their customers make better decisions when choosing an omega-3, the firm believes. Aker enlisted omega-3 expert Chris Speed, MND, CEO at OmegaWellness, to head the program, starting with a national tour to meet natural food retailers and give seminars on omega-3s, particularly krill.

­­Deerland Enzymes of Kennesaw, GA, has a new tool on its Web site: The interactive YourBlend online formulator (http://DeerlandEnzymes.com/YourBlend) lets manufacturers choose ingredients, delivery methods and packaging options for their unique product concept.

Capsugel, based in Morristown, NJ, has the results of its 2013 scintigraphic in vivo study on DRcaps capsules, which are intended for delayed delivery of acid-sensitive ingredients like probiotics and enzymes. Data indicate the capsules begin to release their contents in a mean time of 52 minutes after ingestion and completely released the ingredients by a mean time of 72 minutes after ingestion.
