Shaheen Majeed, marketing director at Sabinsa Corporation of East Windsor, NJ, gave the opening keynote address at the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit, Asia-Pacific edition, in Hong Kong in November. Majeed was invited because of the ethical sourcing programs set up by Sabinsa in Asia.

The Natural Products Association (NPA) of Washington, D.C., hired Olivia Igbokwe, Esq., to be its new director of government relations. NPA also promoted Gabrielle Alahouzos to senior vice president of membership services, and Lauren Cohen to director of communications.

The Hill newspaper listed John Shaw, director and CEO of the Natural Products Association, as a Top Lobbyist 2013 in Washington, D.C. He also made the list in 2010 and 2012.

Advantra Z / Novel Ingredient Services of Caldwell, NJ, has brought on Lynn Walters to be part of its marketing communications team.

Blake’s All Natural Foods of Concord, NH, added Amy Peterson to its management team as marketing manager.

Endangered Species Chocolate of Indianapolis, IN, welcomed Brent Robinson as its new director of operations.  Robinson will oversee all operations activities including production, sanitation and warehouse. He will be an integral part of the continued expansion of the company.

Aker BioMarine, with U.S. headquarters in Issaquah, WA, hired Alex Tomlinson as business development manager to lead the region’s new office in Melbourne, Australia.

Jordan “Kelly” Mears is now the south regional sales manager in Texas for Fort Lauderdale, FL-based Life Extension.

Andrea Wong, Ph.D., joined the Council for Responsible Nutrition of Washington, D.C., as vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs.
