Edward & Sons Trading Company, a natural foods company that introduced Miso-Cups instant soup mix and Native Forest Organic Coconut Milk to American consumers, has announced Russell Parker as president. In addition to enhancing the company’s operational strengths, Parker, who has over 35 years of experience in operations, procurement and marketing, will collaborate with Edward & Sons’ founder and CEO Joel Dee on “better for you” groceries.

Effective July 23, Donna Giordano, president of the Ralph’s division of Kroger Co., is retiring after 44 years of service to the company. Kroger promoted Valerie Jabbar to serve as Ralph’s president upon Giordano’s departure.

Sunil Pai, MD, one of the United States’ first formally-trained Integrative Medicine medical doctors, has written a book, An Inflammation Nation: The Definitive 10-Step Guide to Preventing and Treating All Diseases through Diet, Lifestyle, and the Use of Natural Anti-Inflammatories. The book, which features a forward by Andrew Weil, MD, is published by RocDoc Publications and available online for purchase.

In Memoriam
Wendell J. Lundberg passed away June 12 at the age of 85. He was the second oldest of four brothers who built Lundberg Family Farms. Lundberg was heavily involved with his local community, not only as an employer, but also as cofounder of the TriCounties Bank, which supports the local economy through mostly agricultural loans. He served as a director of the bank until his retirement in 2007.

Lundberg also served on advisory boards at California State University, Chico, where he received an honorary doctorate, as director of the Butte County  Rice  Growers  Association,  director  of  Trico  Bancshares,  member  of  the  California  Rice  Industry Committee, director of North State Crime Stoppers, president of the Chico Chapter Experimental Aircraft Association and elder of the Chico Evangelical Free Church.
