The Natural Health Research Institute (NHRI) will co-sponsor, “Debate on Micronutrient Supplementation—Part One: Chromium and Vitamin D” at the American College of Nutrition annual conference, October 15–18 in San Antonio, TX.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition announced that political analyst Jim VandeHei will speak at The Conference: CRN’s Annual Symposium for the Dietary Supplement Industry, to be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, CA, November 5-8.

SuperNutrition highlighted the benefits of niacin for anti-aging support, following the recent publication of a study in the journal, Cell. Researchers found that NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), which niacin coverts into once it is in the body, reversed mitochondrial aging in mice. According to material from SuperNutrition, “The authors of the Cell study said that the study showed that boosting NAD+ was like turning a 60-year old into a 20-year old, causing a never-before-seen reversal in the age of cellular mitochondria, the furnaces that energize all the cells in our bodies.”

Health Plus, based in Chino, CA, is sponsoring the Oct. 26 Walk for Polycystic Kidney Disease that will be held in Santa Monica, CA. The majority of donations goes to research, raising awareness about the disease and education/support.

Oral care products from Coldstream Naturals of Newberry, FL, are now certified cruelty free and vegan by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

UAS LifeSciences of Madison, WI, will make a donation to a women’s non-profit of consumers’ choice with voting ending September 22. The non-profit will receive 25 cents for every box of UP4 WOMEN’S sold in October. A second donation will be made to a local women’s non-profit to be chosen by UAS employees.
