The Natural Products Association is adding new committees and work groups in 2015, including the Next Generation Leadership Committee, the Natural Food Work Group and the Sustainable Standard Work Group. The Next Generation Leadership Committee will focus on reaching millennial consumers; the Natural Food Work Group and the Sustainable Standard Work Group will co-develop an association definition of natural for foods; the Sustainable Standard Work Group will create a standard of sustainability for natural products.

Twinlab of New York, NY, acquired contract manufacturer Nutricap Labs.

Chicago, IL-based law firm Amin Talati added Shashank Upadhye to its staff and was renamed Amin Talati & Upadhye.

CBS News recently aired a segment entitled, “Want muscles? Rice is the new meat.” The piece quoted David Janow, CEO of Axiom Foods and Kenny Ridgeway, NutriBiotic’s director of purchasing and manufacturing, who said rice protein is his fastest growing line.

The HEALTH MINUTE segments will be hosted by healthy lifestyle expert Michelle Harris, who will give tips about products in all categories of the natural products industry.
