In an effort to avoid excess waste, Kashi Company, La Jolla, CA, has reduced packaging material on several of its products by as much as 12.4%.

Makers of the WineTime Bar, a nutrition bar containing resveratrol, ResVes, Inc., Rancho Santa Fe, CA, announced it is in negotiations for several national distribution deals, has been conditionally accepted for membership in The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade and has been selected as the “Official Gourmet Nutrition Bar of the Tasty Awards.”

The acquisition of Edner of Nevada, Inc. by SunOpta Inc. has been completed. Sun Opta Inc. president and CEO Steve Bromley said, "We are pleased to have closed this acquisition as it expands our capabilities in the rapidly growing healthy convenience category.”

Chicago restaurant Poag Mahone’s, of the Rosenthal Group, is now an Animal Welfare Approved certified distributor of humanely raised beef, sourced from American Grass Fed Beef.
