Chia seeds and bars maker Health Warrior, Inc. has gained NFL running back Arian Foster of the Houston Texans as a significant financial stakeholder in the company. In addition to his status as an investor, Foster will serve as an ambassador for the company.

A new survey conducted by Lindberg International on behalf of Stonyfield Farm, Londonderry, NH, reveals that a majority of Americans are concerned about pesticides in the food supply. The survey coincides with the launch of revamped packaging for all of the company’s products. One difference on the front of the package is a call-out noting that the yogurt was made without the use of toxic persistent pesticides.

Jolie Ravioli of New Hyde Park, NY, is searching for new distributors and brokers to introduce its children’s ravioli products. An integrated marketing campaign will promote the new “Jolie and Friends” children’s characters associated with the kid-friendly ravioli shapes found in the product line.

Kosherfest, the world’s biggest kosher food trade show, marked its 25th anniversary this year. The 2013 show was held October 29–30 in Secaucus, NJ, at the Meadowlands Expo Center. It featured 275 exhibitors and had over 6,500 food and food service professionals in attendance.

Just launched by POM Wonderful, Los Angeles, CA, is the Industrial Pomegranate Partnership Program. Product developers and flavor experts from the company will work with global pomegranate category leaders to develop innovative pomegranate-based products under their own brand names.

Lucini Italia is sponsoring a two-day olive oil tasting seminar this January in San Francisco. The seminar is organized by the National Organization of Olive Oil Tasters (ONAOO), an Italy-based olive oil school accredited by the International Olive Council.
