Nunda, NY— Once Again Nut Butter, based here, has opened a new state-of-the-art 37,000-ft² manufacturing plant, a $13-million expansion project. The project will add 15 new jobs to its 67 existing positions and the most significant economic growth Nunda has had in the last 10 years. The plant, which was created to separate peanut-based production from other nut products to avoid allergen contamination, will be able to produce 40 million pounds of peanut butter annually. By contrast, the current facility can produce seven million pounds annually.

As a part of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council 2012 Small Business Expansion Fund, Once Again Nut Butter was awarded $300,000 from Empire State Development in an effort to ensure New York State investment in job creation and retention outside of Monroe County. They also received incentives from New York State Energy Research and Development totaling $54,000 for measures that would reduce energy use during production and in building operations.

The Livingston County IDA estimates that the new plant’s benefit to the state and region through job creation and revenue on sales, income and property tax will be more than $4.6 million.
