North Bergen, NJ—Vitamin Shoppe, Inc. has announced that Colin Watts will be the company’s new CEO effective April 6th.Watts will be succeeding Tony Truesdale, who will be retiring in June after nine years with the company. Watts is already well established in the consumer products and healthcare industries, with his most recent position being president of Weight Watchers Health Solutions. Prior to his time at Weight Watchers, Watts was chief innovation officer at Walgreens, and also has held senior management positions at Campbell Soup Company and McNeil Nutritionals.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, executive chairman Rick Markee stated, “We are pleased to welcome Colin, an experienced leader in the health, wellness and consumer products industries, to the Vitamin Shoppe.  He has a proven track record of setting strategic vision, driving innovation and building brands.” Markee also commented that Watts’ skillset would be a great addition to the company as it continues to grow. Watts also issued a statement, looking forward to working with the Vitamin Shoppe team as well as “accelerating the growth of the company as we evolve into a trusted health and well-being lifestyle brand and destination.”
