A new study published in PLOS ONE has been able to correlate low vitamin B12 levels in the brain with age, autism and schizophrenia. The researchers collected postmortem brain samples from 43 control subjects ranging in age from 19 weeks of gestation to 80 years, as well as 12 autistic subjects (4-9 years of age) and nine schizophrenic subjects (36-49 years of age).

Washington — On Monday, February 8, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded $20.1 million in grants to university researchers to go toward research or extension projects aimed at helping producers combat Huanglongbing (HLB), or citrus greening disease as it is more commonly known. According to Secretary Tom Vilsack, this disease has affected over 75% of Florida citrus crops and continues to threaten production across the United States.

In a quarterly 10-Q SEC filing on Friday, Fairway Group Holdings, corporate parent of Fairway Market, revealed if the company’s financial performance does not improve or financing from an additional third-party is not obtained, the company may fall out of compliance with financial covenants at the end of its fiscal year in April.
