The Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO), established in 2005, is an industry program of the Gluten Intolerance Group. In order to give consumers assurance of food safety, GFCO certifies producers of gluten-free products through a process of stringent desk audits of ingredients and suppliers, as well as regular on-site inspection and monitoring of testing results to ensure standards are met. GFCO is internationally recognized among consumers, certifying more than 23,000 products for more than 700 companies in 27 countries worldwide. In the past year, GFCO has newly certified 277 products, with continued growth.
