Floraphage from Arthur Andrew Medical is a prebiotic designed to help beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract grow at an increased rate.

When there is an overgrowth of harmful bacteria such as E. coli in the digestive tract, an imbalance of intestinal microflora can develop, leading to abdominal pain and discomfort and bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections and bacterial vaginosis. Floraphage can support digestive health by helping the growth of beneficial bacteria outpace that of harmful bacteria, as well as enhancing the effects of probiotic supplements. In addition, by destroying harmful bacteria in the gut, nutrients are released that serve as a sort of probiotic “food.” The faster growth of beneficial bacteria can provide general immune and digestive support.

In a clinical study, Floraphage was tested with four popular probiotic supplements to determine its effectiveness. The study’s results showed an average increase in probiotic bacteria growth by a factor of 24 compared to a control group. The research also suggested that Floraphage was well tolerated by individuals and caused few side effects such as abdominal discomfort, while promoting probiotic growth in a relatively short length of time (about 60 minutes).
