Udi’s Gluten Free has launched two new, gluten-free certified tortillas. Available in two varieties—6’’ and 9’’—these tortillas are dairy, soy and nut free. The 6’’ tortillas come in an eight pack while the 9’’ is available in a six pack.

Mom Made Foods introduced two new products to its popular Mom Made Bites line: Chicken & Apple Meatball Bites and Beef & Cheese Meatball Bites. Both packages contain two-and-a-half servings and are flash frozen to preserve flavor, nutrients, color and texture. They contain no preservatives, trans-fats, added sugars or artificial colors. Low in sodium.

Snapea Crisps, a snack made from sun-dried peas, are being moved by Calbee North America into a new brand portfolio called Harvest Snaps. Snapea Crisps have also added two additional flavors, bringing the total to four. Flavors include: Lightly Salted, Caesar, Black Pepper and Wasabi Ranch. Every bite of the pea snack contains 70% pea sourced from U.S. and Canadian Farms.The Harvest Snaps portfolio will also feature Lentil Snaps, available in Onion Thyme and Tomato Basil flavors. The products have less fat and sodium and more fiber than regular potato chips.

New dairy-free cream cheese style spread from daiya comes in three flavors: Plain, Chive & Onion, and Strawberry. Each are creamy and spreadable and suitable for people with intolerances to dairy, gluten and soy. The company says the products are perfect for bagels or recipes that call for cream cheese. Each cream cheese style spread comes in an 8-oz tub.

Washington, D.C.—On February 4, the U.S. Senate passed the long-delayed Agriculture Act of 2014, otherwise known as the farm bill. After much debate and many different versions of the legislation, the final result looks to contain several victories for the organic food industry. Other winners include dairy and soybean farmers, while about $8 billion in controversial cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as Food Stamps) made it into the final bill.
