Once Again Nut Butter, based in Nunda, NY, has opened a new state-of-the-art 37,000-ft² manufacturing plant. The $13-million expansion project will add 15 new jobs to its 67 existing positions and create the most significant economic growth Nunda has had in the last 10 years. The plant, which was created to separate peanut-based production from other products to avoid allergen contamination, will be able to make 40 million pounds of peanut butter annually. By contrast, the current facility can produce seven million pounds annually.

On June 8,Fairway Group Holdings Corp, the parent company of Fairway Market, unanimously won the court’s approval for a Plan of Reorganization. The plan, which will reduce the company’s debt by $140 million and reduce its annual debt service obligations by up to $8 million, will allow all “pre-petition unsecured creditors, including suppliers, employees, unions and other trade creditors to be paid in the ordinary course of business.”
