Company Description
Many of the most popular and effective dietary supplement products sold in health food stores contain ingredients from Sabinsa. Committed and dedicated to the principles of innovation, tradition and research, Sabinsa supplies high-quality innovative standardized herbal extracts, phytonutrients, probiotics, enzymes, spice extracts, minerals, specialty chemicals and fine chemicals for applications in dietary supplements, functional foods, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The natural extracts and phytonutrients are derived from botanicals with a long history of traditional food, medicinal and cosmetic use. Every product is backed by application-oriented scientific research. Sabinsa Corporation has developed novel approaches to retaining the biological activity of these ingredients while simultaneously addressing formulation challenges and product safety criteria.

Sabinsa’s main manufacturing facilities have achieved international GMP certification in addition to other quality certifications recognized globally.

Although many investment groups have tried to buy Sabinsa because the company has been successful for over two decades, the company is still privately owned, which enables it to make long-term decisions rather than short-term, profit-motivated ones. This means that each product is carefully researched before being offered for sale.

Because the company’s raw materials are crops (herbs and spices), the company has invested heavily in establishing relationships with and supporting its supplier farmers. Sabinsa helps them with the financing to begin the growing season, teaches them how to protect against environmental contaminants and guarantees the harvest. This enables the company to have a steady supply of quality raw materials, while improving the lives of farming families in developing countries.

What’s New?
Some of the category updates Sabinsa’s researchers have produced include:

NiLitis™ is a novel glucosamine-free blend, supported by a clinical study, which naturally supports joint health and flexibility/mobility without undesirable side effects. It contains Curcumin C3 Complex® (Curcuma longa), Boswellin® (Boswellia serrata) and Ginger extract. The ingredients are formulated for optimal bioavailability and sustained release for prolonged benefits. This blend is also available from Sabinsa as a sustained-released bi-layer tablet, called NiLitis™ SR INC.

LeanGard® is making waves as a clinically studied blend of herbal extracts for supporting lean body mass, supporting satiety and a healthy body composition. LeanGard contains three phytonutrient ingredients: ForsLean® (patented, clinically validated natural extract from Coleus forskohlii roots); GarCitrin® (patented clinically validated natural extract from Garcinia cambogia fruit rind containing hydroxycitric acid and garcinol, that is better absorbed and utilized than the well-known Garcinia cambogia extracts containing hydroxycitric acid alone); and BioPerine®, a patented extract from black pepper fruits that enhances the bioavailability of the other two nutrients.

Integrated Nutritional Composites™ (INC). Sabinsa Manufacturing, a division of Sabinsa Corporation, now offers an innovative selection of Integrated Nutritional Composites™ (INC): bi-layered, multi-release nutritional compositions targeting specific health maintenance needs. Carefully formulated, these compositions deliver stable dosage forms of actives that may not otherwise be compatible, or are difficult to formulate. These ready-made formulations, many of which include Sabinsa’s science-based patented ingredients, are available in high-demand categories such as weight management, heart health and joint support.

Resveratrol has shown great promise in anti-aging, but the dosage would have to be so large its benefits are not readily available. However, combining resveratrol with Sabinsa’s bioavailability enhancing BioPerine puts those benefits within reach. A study published in the August volume of Molecular Nutrition & Food Research entitled, “Enhancing the Bioavailability of Resveratrol by Combining it with Piperine,” found that the absorption of resveratrol was significantly increased when combined with piperine (black pepper extract) in lab mice. The resveratrol used in the study was Sabinsa’s Resvenox® and the piperine used was Sabinsa’s patented ingredient BioPerine®. The conclusion of the study read, “Our study demonstrated that piperine significantly improves the in vivo bioavailability of resveratrol.”
